the first photo is of a young monk standing outside of the thimpu dzong. i took this picture as we were walking away from the dzong, as the crowds were so thick with people standing in line trying to get in to greet their king. there were hundreds of us walking through the rice fields on our way back to town. he has such a beautiful face.
the second picture is at the top of the dochu-la and is of the 108 chortens dedicated to his majesty the 4th king.....the present king's father.
the third is a quick picture of the punahka dzong taken from the bridge over the river on the way to the dzong. it is really huge and very, very gorgeous.
